This great vintage Gordon Henderson army green wool jacket is so contemporary and it can be worn with numerous separates. This easy to wear jacket was made in Hong Kong in the late 1980's or early 1990's. There is a front gold metal zipper for closure and lovely gathering at the waist. This collared, medium weight jacket has 4 slanted zip pockets and a matching belt.
If you haven't heard of Gordon Henderson, it's probably because he was mostly designing in the 1980's and 90's. He was a close friend of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and he designed John F Kennedy Jr's wedding suit. Henderson was known for creating pieces for working women and he didn't agree with the concept of a designer fully dressing women and preferred to offer them pieces that could be incorporated into their wardrobes and worn with other things they own.
In 1989 Gordon Henderson became the first black American to win the Perry Ellis CFDA New Designer of the Year award
